Mesh Visors are steel mesh face shields that protect against flying particles — such as wood chips, sawdust, and debris — while allowing ventilation to keep workers cooler and providing a clear field of vision without any risk of fogging. They are part of the Woodsman® Forestry System.
Mesh visors cannot fog because air circulates freely through the mesh rather than pooling against a solid lens surface. This makes mesh visors preferable to polycarbonate in outdoor, high-exertion environments where fogging is a persistent problem with solid face shields.
Unlike solid polycarbonate visors, mesh visors allow airflow through the face shield, preventing fogging entirely and keeping workers significantly cooler during physically demanding outdoor work such as chainsaw operation and tree climbing. The trade-off is that mesh visors are not rated for splash or chemical protection.
Gateway Safety Mesh Visors are 12.75"×6.75" in size, designed to provide full-face coverage from forehead to chin when mounted on compatible hard hat adapters as part of the Woodsman® Forestry System.
Mesh visors are designed for protection against flying particles such as wood chips and debris — not for chemical splash, liquid, or fine dust applications. For chemical or splash protection, a solid polycarbonate visor such as the Molded or Venom® series should be used instead.
