Wheelz® IR is UL-certified to ANSI Z87.1+, meeting high-impact eye protection standards — available in IR Filter Shade 3.0 and 5.0 for light welding and torch applications in a compact, comfortable goggle platform.
Wheelz® IR is available in IR Filter Shade 3.0 (for very light torch work and gas welding at low amperages) and Shade 5.0 (for gas welding at moderate amperages and light arc applications). Always select the shade appropriate to your specific welding process per ANSI Z87.1 guidelines.
Wheelz® IR includes the same Whirlwind ventilation system as the standard Wheelz®, which actively circulates air through the optical chamber to fight fogging. This is particularly valuable in welding goggle use where heat from the welding process can cause rapid lens fogging in standard goggles.
Wheelz® IR uses the same compact goggle frame as the standard Wheelz® — significantly lighter and less obtrusive than traditional welding goggles. This improves wearability for workers who need to alternate between welding and other tasks, as the compact design is less fatiguing than bulky traditional welding goggles.
Wheelz® IR provides goggle-style wraparound protection for the entire eye area including the sides, whereas IR safety glasses leave the sides open. The goggle format is preferable in environments where UV and IR light scatter may approach from angles beyond the front of the lens.
