The Nextera® earmuff has an independently tested NRR of 30 — the highest NRR in the Gateway Safety earmuff lineup. This level of noise reduction is suitable for very high-noise industrial environments such as heavy manufacturing, stamping, and grinding operations.
The Nextera® achieves its 30 NRR through a combination of features: a four-point plated steel headband for even pressure distribution, a unique honeycomb cup interior that reduces weight while maintaining acoustic performance, foam-filled head pads, and proprietary Soft-Seal ear cushions that create an effective acoustic seal.
The Nextera® is an over-the-head, 1-position earmuff. While this means it does not adjust for under-chin or behind-the-neck wear, the single over-the-head configuration is optimized for maximum acoustic seal and consistent NRR 30 performance.
The Nextera® earmuff is available in black with a four-point adjustable headband. The headband adjusts to fit a range of head sizes while the plated steel construction ensures durability in demanding industrial environments.
With an NRR of 30, the Nextera® provides the highest level of hearing protection in the Gateway Safety earmuff family — outperforming models like SoundOut™ II (NRR 29) and SoundDecision™ (NRR 25). It is the right choice when workers are exposed to the loudest environments and maximum attenuation is required.
